Brooke Charter Schools stood out to the Aguilar family for its small class sizes and strong communication with families. Over the years, our teachers teachers and a supportive community have made Brooke feel like another family, especially during challenging times.
We spoke with the Aguilar family to learn more about their journey, memorable experiences, and what makes Brooke such a special place for their children’s education.
What factors led you to choose Brooke Charter Schools for your child’s education?
I chose Brooke because I knew they had small classes, which I believed would give my children the best chance to learn. I wanted a school where teachers could focus on each student, and Brooke stood out to me, especially with their strong communication with families.
Can you share some highlights or memorable moments your child has had while attending Brooke?
In 2020, our family went through a difficult time during the beginning of COVID, and Brooke’s support made all the difference. My child’s teacher checked in with us, making sure that we all felt supported. She kept communicating with us and went above and beyond to help my children stay on track.
How would you describe the community at Brooke Charter Schools?
Brooke is more than just a school—it’s a family. The school community focuses on both academic excellence and personal connections with students and their families. That balance has made Brooke a place where we feel seen and valued.
Have there been any standout teachers or staff members who’ve made a lasting impact on your child or family?
Ms. Ribeiro (Paraprofessional at Brooke East Boston) has made an impact on our family. She loves my kids like they are her own, and takes great care of them. I always know that if something comes up, she’ll be there to support them and communicate with me. Ms. La Paz (Dean at Brooke East Boston) has also had an incredible impact on my son. She knows exactly how to guide him and provide the support he needs. I’m grateful for the care Brooke has shown our family.
How have the school’s values or culture influenced your child’s development?
From community meetings to specific classes, it’s clear that my children are learning. I feel confident that Brooke is preparing them not only for high school but also for the future, including graduating from college.
What advice would you give to families who are considering Brooke Charter Schools?
They should apply! They won’t regret having their kids attend Brooke. It’s a school that communicates with you and makes sure your students are supported, academically and personally.
