Back to School, Take Two!
WE ARE WELCOMING K-12 SCHOLARS BACK FOR
In-Person Learning This Spring
On Monday, April 5th, we welcomed scholars back to our school buildings for full-time, in-person learning.
Following CDC, state, and our own staff reopening group’s recommendations, we prepared safe and joyful spaces for students to return to. It is incredible to have our hallways filled with scholars’ laughter (and a lot of hand sanitizer)!
Across all grades, we gave our families the choice to continue remote learning or to transition to full-time in-person instruction.
In grades K-8, approximately 50% of our families chose to send their scholars back to school. At Brooke High School, just 20% of students and their families elected to return to in-person learning.
Over the coming weeks, we will welcome all scholars back on the following dates:
- Kindergarten – fifth grade return on April 5, 2021
- Sixth – eighth grade return on April 28, 2021
- High school students return on May 3, 2021

A Safe Return to School
Vaccinating Teachers
While, we can’t require staff be vaccinated, we have been collecting and distributing information on vaccine opportunities for staff. Once shots became available to Massachusetts teachers, our team shared booking tips and set up vaccine appointments for any staff struggling to get a slot. Many teachers even proudly shared their vaccine status on our social media feed!
Strict Safety Measures
We have also created and begun implementing a very detailed set of COVID-19 safety protocols, which include:
- Universal Mask Wearing
- Strong Building Ventilation
- Social Distancing
- Cohort Approach
- Hand Hygiene
- Weekly COVID Testing
