Our instructional resources site features lesson videos and curriculum materials for different subjects. Our available content brings you into classrooms from kindergarten up through 9th grade!
In most math classrooms, teachers present a problem, demonstrate the solution and then have the students practice. It’s dubbed the “I do-we do-you do” method of instruction... Not at Brooke. Here, teachers start by presenting a new problem and invite the students to solve it on their own... Then there's a classroom discussion about the different ways students tried to solve it... Ideally, they carry the weight of the instruction, learning from one another.
Establishing Brooke High School was a critical part of our mission to ensure our scholars’ success in college and beyond. We initially launched Brooke High School in August 2016 with a founding class of 9th graders and a temporary site in Dorchester. Brooke High moved to its new, permanent Mattapan site in August 2018.
